News Among Us: 2020’s Most-Downloaded Game 2020 statistics by Apptopia reveal Among Us to have become the most downloaded game of the year, amassing 264 million new users globally,  41 million of which are based in the USA. Released in June 2018, the game enjoyed a surge of popularity in 2020. This is presumably due to the COVID-2019 pandemic, which caused a series of lockdowns, during which Among Us became especially popular with kids hungry to socialize.
