Cyberpunk 2077 Is Now What It Should Have Been
The buggy and glitchy Cyberpunk 2077 that disappointed thousands of players a year ago does not exist anymore. The developers from CDPR spent this year fixing bugs and adding new minor details. And now Cyberpunk 2077 is a game worth buying, especially given its current price.
Not an opinion of one person, it’s the consensus of players on Steam. Their initial disappointment melted, as the overall rate of the game recently switched to “Very Positive”. It’s the result of slow work that kept CDPR busy throughout the year and fix after fix, it did its job. Today, Cyberpunk 2077 is a totally playable title, with glitches still present but insignificant.
In addition, players buying the game now don’t suffer from these vague but larger-than-life expectations that surrounded the initial release. No wonder many of the first purchasers just didn’t stand the reality. But now we have reviews and streams, friends with physical and digital copies, and some experience playing it then – and now. Black Friday also contributed, as the game became available for half the price. As a result, Cyberpunk 2077 is now played by a fantastic number of gamers.
Among side factors that seem to have nothing to do with the game, we’d also name the upcoming release of The Matrix Resurrections. Having nothing in common in terms of story and universe, it features the same cyberpunk style and stars Keanu Reeves. For those expecting the movie in cinemas, it’s logical to try a game that shares quite a lot with the iconic franchise.
It’s a common rule, though, that games by CDPR take time to appreciate. Cyberpunk 2077, made into a decent game a year after the release, just follows The Witcher 3, which was also quite buggy in 2015, but who remembers it now? In a year or two, Cyberpunk 2077 will be as well gain more popularity. Especially if it inspires a show on Netflix.
Have you played Cyberpunk 2077 right after its release and a year after? Did your experience change, and your heart soften? Do you have a copy, or plan to get one now? Let’s talk about Cyberpunk 2077 in the comments!
